HH 5A Sweet 16 Playoff Predictions

Upper Bracket:

#23 Hermiston (6-4) at #1 Sherwood (10-0) - Hard to know for sure about Hermy but regardless it will be the the toughest game the Bowmen have seen in a while - I'd like to see a good close score here, but in the end Sherwood will win by a few TD's.

#9 Silverton (8-2) at #8 Ashland (7-2) - Ashland narrowly escaped a battered CV team in 2 OT's - Silverton has beaten better teams than the Griz and they will win this one on the long roadie and find themselves in the Quarterfinals vs Sherwood!

#16 St. Helens (6-4) at #4 West Albany (8-2) - Springfield hung in there long enough to remind us that West is vulnerable. St. Helens won't be so easy but I like my Dawgs at home!

#12 Liberty (6-4) at #5 Bend (7-2) - Bend squeeks by Woodburn only 33-22. I'm going out on a limb here with the Falcons.

Bottom Bracket:

#22 Sandy (4-6) at #2 Marist (9-0) - OSAA playoffs are seriously broken when we see a 4-6 team in the sweet 16 - For rankings they should just go with the BCS system seen at oregonprepsports.net - It is just plain wrong when your W/L record is only 25% of the criteria - Also, the North/South regionalizing of the playins caused 8 of the top 9 teams on one side of the bracket thereby eliminating several teams better than Sandy.

#10 Wilsonville (8-2) at #7 Corvallis (7-3) - I agree this is a solid GOTW pick and I'm sticking with the MWC!

#21 Jefferson (6-4) at #3 Mountain View (8-1) - The only reason Jefferson is here is because they play in the PIL and the PIL is in the North - Very sad to say again but much better competition has already been eliminated.

#11 Pendleton (8-2) at #6 Lebanon (7-3) - Lebanon will flex their muscle again, they must still be bitter about losing last two conference games and the MWC title - They will use that to their advantage!
